Someone knocks and you already know where their eyes are going to land. Two parts mixed on a spatula, and by tonight it's a door frame again — nothing to notice, nothing to explain.
will it match?** — The kit cures brown, and your bonus guide walks you through tinting and paint-matching before you touch the door. You test on a scrap first, so you see the match in daylight before it goes anywhere near the frame.
The filler stays workable while you shape it, so a bad pass gets wiped and redone rather than set in place.
If it dries wrong, you sand it back and go again.

Bought it for the door frame originally but had enough left to fix a chewed table leg. Worked the same on both.

Ordered another to give to my brother, his shepherd did the same thing to his basement door frame.
Someone comes to the door and their eyes drop to the corner at dog-height before they land on your face.
You stopped seeing it months ago.
They see it in a second.
The worst part isn't the wood — it's that you've started managing who sees it.

It bonds into the wood, not onto it
Hardware-store putty sits in the hole like a plug.
It dries a flat, chalky grey, and the day you sand it you find out it's a different colour than anything else on the frame.
Grainfix is two parts: a filler and a hardener you mix on the spatula.
The mix penetrates the torn fibers and cures harder than the wood around it, colour- and grain-matched, so light hits it the same way it hits the rest of the frame.
That's the whole difference.
A patch is something you spot.
This reads as wood.

Still invisible a year from now
The question nobody asks out loud: what happens when he goes back to the same spot?
Because he will.
That corner is his corner.
Cured Grainfix is harder than the pine or oak it replaced, so it doesn't crumble out the way soft putty does when a door gets slammed or a dog gets bored.
And if the spray goes on after — bitter, clear, dries invisible — he loses interest in that corner entirely.
You fix it once.
Not every spring.

The tint test: mix a pea-sized amount on a scrap, hold it against the frame in daylight, and adjust before you touch the door
The five-minute paint match for white and coloured frames — which primer to use so the patch doesn't flash through
The grain-drag trick with the spatula edge that makes the repair read as wood grain instead of a smooth spot
Cures harder than the frameTried to sand it the same way I'd sand pine and it just laughed at me. Had to step down a grit. Thats a good sign for durability.

Good value compared to a carpenterCalled around before buying this. Cheapest quote was north of $250 to swap the jamb. Easy math.
Soledad F.Verified08/18/2026
Nobody has asked about the doorThats really the whole review. Four different people have been through that doorway since I did it and not one has looked down.
Nia W.Verified08/17/2026
Just a door againThats it really. Its just a door frame now. I don't look at it.
Alondra O.Verified08/16/2026
The tint test is the actual productSounds dramatic but the guide they include about matching is where the value is. Anyone can sell you brown filler. Knowing how to adjust it to your specific frame before you touch the door is the part that saves you.

I was worried about it being too small to cover th...I was worried about it being too small to cover the damage but the chewed area was maybe six inches up the frame and I had filler left over. Depends on your damage obviously but for a standard dog height corner its plenty.
Meredith L.Verified08/14/2026
I stopped moving the plantFor about eight months there was a plant stand sitting in a spot it had no business being in, just to block the view of the chewed corner. Moved it back where it belongs last week. Sounds like a small thing but I was genuinely embarrassed every time somebody came over and now I'm not.
Hiroshi W.Verified08/12/2026
Commute a lot, needed something quickI'm gone most of the week so any home project has to fit into a Saturday. This fit. Application maybe fifteen minutes, sanding the next morning.
Jamal W.Verified08/11/2026
EasyQuick, clean, no mess. Good stuff.
Consuelo D.Verified08/09/2026
Rental deposit savedOur beagle went at the bedroom door frame and I was fully expecting to lose the deposit over it. Did the repair two weekends ago. Landlord walked past it during the inspection and said nothing.
Tyrone B.Verified08/08/2026
Didn't have to figure anything outStraightforward. Mixed it, applied it, waited, sanded. No YouTube required.
Zora N.Verified08/07/2026
Did it while the coffee was still hotSaturday morning job. Mixed, pressed, walked away. Sanded it flush before lunch. The sanding step is the one people probably skip and its the one that matters.
Priya S.Verified08/05/2026
I thought it would look like a patchI was worried about ending up with an obvious repaired spot which honestly would have bothered me more than the chew marks. Dragged the spatula edge along the grain direction like it suggests and that made all the difference. Reads as wood.
Fumiko D.Verified08/03/2026
Painted white frameMine is painted white so obviously brown filler on its own was never going to work. Followed the paint match section, primed it, painted over. Its invisible now. Took an extra step but thats to be expected.
Esperanza R.Verified08/02/2026
My frame is light oak and I almost didn't orderThe color was my whole hesitation. I have honey oak trim and this comes out brown. Did the tint thing on a scrap piece first like it says and adjusted. You can find it if you're looking for it but nobody has.
Tim O.Verified07/31/2026
I already had filler in the garage but mine was th...I already had filler in the garage but mine was the cheap kind that goes grey and crumbly. This is a completely different thing. The two part mix actually gets down into the torn up fibers instead of just sitting on top. Big difference on a chewed corner where there's not much solid wood left to grab onto.
Dana K.Verified07/29/2026
Took me one afternoon and I stopped thinking about itOur lab did the bottom of the hallway door frame over about a year and I just got used to it. Ordered this after a friend mentioned it. Mixed it on the spatula, pressed it in, sanded the next morning. Honestly the sanding is where you win or lose it. Looks like frame again.
Terrell H.Verified07/27/2026
Second one for my brotherOrdered another to give to my brother, his shepherd did the same thing to his basement door frame.
Blythe A.Verified07/25/2026
Quote from a carpenter was $340Got a quote to replace the jamb and it was $340 for the one opening. This was forty bucks and an afternoon. Not even a close decision.
Marcus L.Verified07/22/2026
Didn't think it would hold up but it hasWas worried it would chip out the first time somebody slammed the door. Three months in, nothing. Its harder than the wood around it which I didn't really believe until I tried to sand it.
Luke F.Verified07/19/2026
Good but 100g goes fastWorks exactly as described. Just be aware 100g doesn't go as far as you might think if the damage runs up the frame a way. I used most of the kit on one corner. Would order two next time.
Yolanda G.Verified07/16/2026
Bought a second oneUsed the first on the front door frame and it came out so well I ordered another for the back door where he also got at the trim.
Rosalinda K.Verified07/13/2026
My friend noticed the frameIn a good way. She's been in this house a hundred times and knew about the chewed spot. Walked in last month and asked when we'd had the frame replaced.
Greg P.Verified07/11/2026
Works well, wish it came in more shadesNo complaints about how it performs. Bonded great, sanded smooth. Would just prefer if they sold it in a couple different tones so you don't have to do the mixing yourself.
Dale J.Verified07/08/2026
Fine, took a bit longer to arriveProduct is good, no issues with the repair itself. Shipping took a bit longer than the estimate, I think it was during a sale.
Deb R.Verified07/06/2026
Works, but I wanted a closer match out of the tubeIt does the job and the repair is structurally solid, no complaints there. But I have a fairly dark walnut frame and even after tinting I couldn't quite get it. Its close, not perfect. Fine for a low corner, I probably wouldn't use it somewhere at eye level.
Ashby & ValeThanks for taking the time to write this up. Dark walnut is one of the harder matches and you're right that tinting only gets you so far on the deeper tones. If you ever want to take another run at that corner, reach out to our team — we can walk you through a couple of approaches for darker frames that aren't in the standard guide.
Franklin O.Verified07/04/2026
Thought I'd make it worse than the dog didGenuinely my main fear going in. Chewed wood is one thing, a bad patch job is another. But because it stays workable while you shape it you can wipe a bad pass off and start over. Took the pressure right off.
Faith S.Verified06/30/2026
Works, packaging is very basicRepair came out great. The packaging is pretty plain, no gift presentation or anything, which doesn't matter for this obviously but I'd ordered one to pass along to a friend and it felt a bit bare.
Kendrick V.Verified06/27/2026
Fast shipping, easy jobArrived quicker than expected. Whole thing took maybe 40 minutes plus drying time.
Wendy O.Verified06/23/2026
Been putting this off for two yearsHonestly embarrassing how long I let that corner sit like that. Kept telling myself I'd call someone. Did it myself in one morning and now I'm annoyed I waited so long.
Aisha O.Verified06/18/2026
Worked right out of the boxNo setup, no special tools. Opened it, mixed, done. Used it the same evening it arrived.
Brianna N.Verified06/14/2026
I'm on my feet all day and didn't want a projectLast thing I wanted was a whole weekend thing. This wasn't. Mix on the little spatula it comes with, push it in, done. Cleanup was nothing.
Hal P.Verified06/11/2026
Not what I expected it to doI ordered this thinking it would fill in the whole bottom section of my frame where the wood is basically gone. There's about an inch and a half missing in places. Put it on and it wouldn't stay, kept sagging out before it set. Maybe I needed to build it up in layers but nothing said that anywhere. Ended up having to get the section replaced anyway.
Ashby & ValeThank you for the honest feedback, and sorry this didn't work out for you. You're right that damage that deep needs to be built up in layers rather than filled in one pass — that's on us for not making it clearer up front, and we've since added it to the instructions. Please get in touch with our support team, we'd like to make this right for you.
Wade O.Verified06/09/2026
Solid product, instructions could be clearerDoes what it says. My only gripe is the printed instructions are pretty minimal on the mixing ratio. Ended up figuring it out but a bit more detail would have helped the first time.
Catherine A.Verified06/02/2026
My daughter recommended thisShe used it on her apartment door after her puppy chewed it and told me to get it for our back door. Glad I listened. The color came out slightly darker than our frame but in the end thats fine, its a shadowy corner anyway.
Owen G.Verified05/27/2026
Better than expected for the priceSeemed fair for what it does. I was expecting something closer to putty and this is more like a proper two part epoxy situation. Cures hard.
Ross W.Verified05/19/2026
No chew sinceFixed it and then put the bitter spray on after. He sniffed at it once and hasn't gone back.
Nate H.Verified05/03/2026
Good for someone who doesn't do this stuffI'm not handy. At all. My wife usually handles anything like this. Took me two tries because the first pass I didn't push it deep enough, sanded it back and redid it. Thats the thing, you can just redo it. No permanent damage if you get it wrong.
Cedric D.Verified04/21/2026
Held through winterDid ours in early spring. Door gets slammed constantly by the kids. No chipping, no cracking around the edges where it meets the old wood.

Questions, answered
will it actually match?
— The kit cures a brown tone, and on its own that will not match a white or very light frame.
That is exactly what the free colour-match guide is for: it walks you through tinting the mix and paint-matching for white and coloured frames, and it has you test on scrap wood in daylight before the door.
Do that step and you see the match before you commit to it.
The mix stays workable while you shape it, so a bad pass wipes off the frame rather than setting in place.
And if it cures wrong, you sand it back flush and do it again — you can't reach a point where the damage is worse than the chewing already made it.
Cured Grainfix is harder than the pine or oak it replaced, so it doesn't crumble out the way soft putty does.
If he's a repeat offender at that specific corner, the Chew-Stop spray goes on after and dries clear on wood.
One kit covers a typical chewed corner or jamb edge at dog-height.
If the damage runs floor-to-knee on more than one frame, or you've got a second door he also got at, order two — that's why the 2× tier exists.
Your order is dispatched within 24–48 hours and typically arrives within 5–9 business days.
You'll get a tracking link the moment it ships, so you can follow it door to door.
