Puresip — 2L Glass Electric Kettle with Tea Infuser
The steam off your first cup comes up faintly warm and plastic, and the tea underneath it tastes like the kettle. Glass and steel mesh are the only things the water touches, so what you drink at seven in the morning tastes like the leaves you paid for.
A: The body is borosilicate, the same glass used for oven dishes and lab beakers, so boiling water and cold tap water back to back won't shock it.
It is still glass, so treat it like a good pan and don't swing a pot into it.
A: Hard water leaves film on any kettle; on glass you can see it, which is the only real difference.
Ten minutes with a descaling sachet and the inside is clear again.
Your order is dispatched within 24–48 hours and typically arrives within 5–9 business days.
You'll get a tracking link the moment it ships, so you can follow it door to door.
Ordering from outside the US?
Allow 7–10 business days.
Every order is covered by our 60-day clean-taste promise, starting the day your order arrives.
Many issues are solved without sending anything back — damaged, wrong, or ill-fitting items are typically replaced free.
No extra taxes or shipping charges.
What you see is what you pay.
Boils in about four minutes for a full fill. Not loud either which I appreciate first thing.

Ordered on a Sunday and it was here Wednesday. Well packed, lots of foam around the glass. Been using it two weeks and no issues.
Rosalinda K. · 5/5
Took about a week which I think was sale related. Worth waiting for. No plastic smell at all which was the whole reason I bought it.

AS SEEN IN
The taste you've been drinking past every single morning
You lift the lid to pour and the steam comes up warm and faintly plastic.
You've noticed it for months.
You drink it anyway, because replacing a kettle feels like a project you don't have time for on a Tuesday.
That's the quiet part: you don't distrust your tea, you distrust your own kitchen.
Water that only ever touches glass and steel
The body is borosilicate glass.
The infuser cylinder is steel mesh.
Between the tap and your cup, that is the complete list of what the water meets.
There's nothing to soften, so there's nothing to carry into the steam.
The first cup tastes like the leaves, and it tastes like that on the first morning, not after a break-in period.
And because the mesh sits inside the kettle, the loose leaf you'd stopped buying goes straight in.
Nothing waiting in the sink.
Still clear in a year, not just in the first photo
Glass has one honest disadvantage: hard water leaves a film and you can see every bit of it.
Plastic gets the same film and simply hides it from you.
So we treat that as maintenance rather than a flaw.
Ten minutes with a descaling sachet and the inside looks the way it did the day it arrived — and you can see that it does.
Borosilicate is the glass ovenware is made from, so cold water into a hot kettle won't crack it.
It won't survive being knocked with a frying pan, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

How it works
Four steps, and the third one is waiting.
1Fill it at the tap
Up to 2 litres, straight into the glass. Nothing to assemble first.
2Drop the leaf in the mesh
A spoon or two of loose leaf goes into the steel cylinder, and the cylinder sits inside the kettle. No separate ball, no strainer to find.
3Boil, then let it steep
It shuts off on its own when it hits the boil. Leave the leaf in as long as you like — the glass lets you watch the colour come up, so you stop guessing.
What the cheap kettle has already quietly cost you
You could spend each year:
$30-40 for the plastic kettle you're replacing, and the one before it
$12 for the clip-on tea ball you rinse every single time
The good loose-leaf tin you stopped buying, because brewing it properly was one dish too many
Or get Puresip once One kettle, once, that boils the water and brews the leaf in the same glass. The tin goes back on the shelf.

Fabiola N.Verified“Came over for coffee and the first thing she said was about the kettle. Ended up sending her the link. It does look good on the counter which I know isn't the point but it's nice.”Aisha O.Verified“Small thing but being able to see the color come up means I stopped guessing how long to leave the leaf in. I used to pull it too early every time. Now I just look at it.”Jabari E.Verified“Photos of glass stuff online usually flatter it. This actually looks better in person, the glass is thicker than I expected and the fittings dont feel plasticky. Pleased.”
Not what I was expecting for the moneyI wanted something I could take camping and heat up on a gas burner, and this doesn't work for that at all, it has to be plugged in. Also the water doesn't stay hot for very long afterwards, maybe twenty minutes, so if you're wanting a flask this is not it. Glass is nice enough I suppose.
PuresipThank you for taking the time to write this. You're right that it's a mains-powered electric kettle rather than a stovetop or insulated one, so it won't work on a gas burner and it isn't designed to hold heat like a flask — sorry it wasn't the right fit for what you had in mind. Please get in touch with our support team and we'll sort a return for you, no trouble at all.

It works, but the lid takes getting used toNo real complaints about the boiling or the taste, both are fine and I do think the water is better than from my old plastic one. But the lid needs a firm push to seat properly and the first couple of times I didn't get it fully closed. It steams out the side a bit if you don't. That's on me partly but I'd have expected it to be more obvious. Otherwise fine for what I needed.
PuresipThanks for pointing this out, and glad the taste side is working for you. You're right that the lid needs a definite press rather than a rest — it's sealed that way to keep the steam in during the steep, but we've noted that it isn't obvious enough on first use and we're looking at the wording in the box.
Uma N.Verified09/02/2026
Green tea finally tastes rightGreen tea is unforgiving, if the water's too hot or the kettle's off you taste it immediately. Being able to see the leaf and the color means I stopped over steeping. Whole cup tastes cleaner.
Cassandra K.Verified09/01/2026
Slightly larger than I picturedI'd read the dimensions and still somehow pictured it smaller. It's not huge but it has more presence on the counter than my old one did. Once I moved the bread bin it was fine and honestly I prefer looking at this than the bread bin. Kettle itself is excellent.

Bought during the sale, arrived a bit slowTook about a week which I think was sale related. Worth waiting for. No plastic smell at all which was the whole reason I bought it.
Zora N.Verified08/29/2026
Didn't think this would change how I drink teaDidn't think it would but it has. I was a bag person because loose leaf felt like a project. Now the tin is out on the counter next to the kettle and I use it every morning. The mesh is fine enough that nothing gets through, and it comes out in one piece so there's no faffing.
Hollis T.Verified08/27/2026
Good price compared to othersLooked at three or four glass kettles with infusers and this was the most sensible on price without being suspiciously cheap. Two months in, works perfectly.
Adriana E.Verified08/26/2026
Ordered another for my motherBought mine in June and ordered a second one for my mother last week. She's had the same kettle since about 2009 and refused to replace it. She rang me two days after it arrived to say the tea tastes different.
Verified Buyer08/24/2026
Would like more color optionsNothing wrong with it at all. Boils fast, tastes clean, basket is great. I just have a lot of black in my kitchen and would have liked a black handle version rather than the one it comes in. Purely aesthetic.
Jabari E.Verified08/23/2026
Thought it would look cheapPhotos of glass stuff online usually flatter it. This actually looks better in person, the glass is thicker than I expected and the fittings dont feel plasticky. Pleased.
Catherine A.Verified08/21/2026
My commute means mornings are tightI leave at ten past seven and every minute counts. Fill it the night before, press it while I'm getting dressed, steep while I make toast, lift the basket out and pour into a travel cup. That's it. No strainer to rinse and run out the door with a sink full of stuff.
Declan D.Verified08/20/2026
Clipped it in and that was itBasket drops in, no fiddling. Whole thing worked right out of the box.
Soledad E.Verified08/18/2026
I usually don't buy things like this onlineI usually don't buy things like this online, especially glass, because I assumed it would arrive in pieces. It was packed very carefully. I'm 61 and I've had probably eight kettles in my life and this is the first one I've actually liked looking at. Took slightly longer to arrive than the site said, about five days, but there was a sale on so I expect that's why.
Tyrone B.Verified08/17/2026
Coffee guy, bought it for tea, use it for bothPour over coffee is my usual thing so I wanted something with a decent pour and no plastic. Does both. The spout is better than I expected for controlled pouring, not a proper gooseneck obviously but fine.
Anastasia E.Verified08/15/2026
Was worried it would turn on by accidentWas worried about that because I have a cat who gets on the counter. It needs a proper press and it doesn't stay on, it cuts out at boil. Three months and no incidents.
Wade O.Verified08/14/2026
Battery of tests passed, one gripeBoil speed good, auto shutoff works, no plastic taste, glass seems tough. My one gripe is that full it's genuinely heavy and pouring one handed into a mug takes some care. Two hands for a teapot. Not a fault, just physics, but worth knowing before you order.
Fabiola N.Verified08/12/2026
My friend noticed it before she noticed meCame over for coffee and the first thing she said was about the kettle. Ended up sending her the link. It does look good on the counter which I know isn't the point but it's nice.
Omari N.Verified08/11/2026
Fits under my cabinets fineThis was my main concern since my upper cabinets are low. It fits with room to spare and the lid opens fully underneath them. Footprint is smaller than the old one too.
Meredith L.Verified08/09/2026
The thing I didn't expectI bought this for the taste reason, which it delivers on. But the thing I didn't expect is that I stopped thinking about the kettle entirely. That sounds like nothing. It isn't. For about a year I'd had this low level irritation every morning about the smell and the strainer and whether the old one was clean inside. All of that just went away.
Lorenzo O.Verified08/08/2026
Used it the same night it arrivedUnboxed it, ran a couple of boils through to flush it out like the guide said, and made tea an hour later. No setup at all. Good value for what it does compared to some of the branded ones I looked at.
Yolanda H.Verified08/06/2026
Didn't think I'd use it this muchBought it thinking I'd use the infuser occasionally and mostly just boil water. It's the other way round. I'm brewing proper tea two or three times a day now because it's no effort. My daughter recommended it after she got one and I was sceptical.
Cedric D.Verified08/05/2026
Solid but no instructions in the boxWorks great, boils quick, glass feels substantial. There was no manual though, or at least I couldn't find one, so I was guessing a bit at first about whether the basket was meant to stay in during the boil or go in after. Figured it out but a slip of paper would have helped.
Blythe A.Verified08/03/2026
Simple and does the jobNot much to say. It boils water, the glass is nice, the basket works. Happy with it.
Marisol T.Verified08/02/2026
Clear after descaling, you can actually see itWe have very hard water here in Arizona and I was certain this would go cloudy and look worse than plastic within a month. It does get a film, thats true. But you can see it so you actually deal with it, and ten minutes with a descaler and it's like new. My old kettle had probably been filthy inside for a year and I had no idea.
Jerome J.Verified07/31/2026
Second one orderedBought one for home and it's good enough that I ordered another for the office. The kettle in our break room is horrendous and everyone just puts up with it. This one lives under my desk now.
Constance N.Verified07/29/2026
On my feet all day, this helpsI'm a nurse and I do twelve hour shifts, so when I get home the routine matters. Fill, press, it turns itself off. I've come back to it twenty minutes later and the water's still hot enough for a second cup. No standing over anything.
Mateo D.Verified07/28/2026
Water tastes like water againOur old one was a cheap plastic thing from a supermarket and there was always that faint warm smell off the steam. I'd got used to it. You really notice when it's gone. Coffee in the morning tastes cleaner too, not just tea.
Dana K.Verified07/26/2026
Good kettle, packaging is very plainThe kettle itself is lovely and does what it says. Just be aware if you're buying it as a gift there's no presentation to it at all, it's a plain brown box and foam. I was giving it to my sister so I ended up buying a gift bag. Minor thing but worth knowing.
Rosalinda K.Verified07/24/2026
Arrived faster than expectedOrdered on a Sunday and it was here Wednesday. Well packed, lots of foam around the glass. Been using it two weeks and no issues.
Gwendolyn D.Verified07/22/2026
I assumed it was just another gimmickI assumed the infuser thing was a gimmick to justify a higher price, and I'll admit I bought it for the look more than anything. It's not a gimmick. I use it every day for the actual brewing, not just as a kettle. The mesh is fine enough that there's no sediment left behind either, which was my other worry.
Kendrick V.Verified07/21/2026
Fast and quietBoils in about four minutes for a full fill. Not loud either which I appreciate first thing.
Bernard O.Verified07/18/2026
Bought it for my wife, use it constantly myselfShe's the tea drinker in this house. I bought it for her birthday mostly because our old one had gone a bit grim inside and you couldnt see how bad until you looked down the spout. Now I'm the one refilling it three times a day. Boils quick and I like that it turns itself off without me standing there.
Priscilla T.Verified07/18/2026
Went back to the good teaThis is going to sound daft but I stopped buying proper loose leaf about two years ago because dealing with the strainer every single time was one job too many in the morning. I have a tin of Assam on the shelf again. The basket lifts out in one go and there's nothing sitting in the sink afterwards. That was genuinely the whole reason I'd given up.
Aisha O.Verified07/16/2026
The steep watching is oddly satisfyingSmall thing but being able to see the color come up means I stopped guessing how long to leave the leaf in. I used to pull it too early every time. Now I just look at it.
Frank S.Verified07/14/2026
Works well, wish it came in a smaller sizeNo complaints about how it works. Boils fast, shuts off, water tastes fine. It's just bigger than I needed since it's only me here. 2L is a lot of water for one person and I end up boiling a third of it most times. Would have bought a 1L version if there was one.
Tavon S.Verified07/11/2026
Replaced two things with one thingHad a kettle and one of those clip on tea balls. Now I have a kettle. The mesh basket does the job and rinses in about four seconds under the tap. Good buy.
Esmeralda C.Verified07/11/2026
I was worried about the glass and I shouldn't ha...I was worried about the glass and I shouldn't have been. I've been filling it straight from the cold tap while it's still warm from the last boil and nothing has happened. My abuela had a glass coffee pot she used for thirty years so I don't know why I assumed modern glass would be worse. It sits on the counter and I don't hide it in the cupboard like the last one.
Wilhelmina F.Verified07/09/2026
Didn't think I'd notice a difference honestlyI thought this was going to be one of those things where you convince yourself it's better because you spent money on it. But the plastic smell from my old kettle was real and now it's gone. First morning I made the earl grey and it tasted like bergamot instead of like nothing in particular. My husband noticed too and he notices nothing.
Questions, answered
A: It's borosilicate — the glass used for oven dishes and lab beakers — so pouring cold tap water into a hot kettle won't shock it, which is how most glass fails.
It won't survive being hit with a pan, so give it the same spot on the counter you'd give a good kettle.
If it fails on you inside 60 days, that's covered.
A: Hard water leaves mineral film on every kettle; on glass you can see it, on plastic you can't.
It wipes out with a descaling sachet in about ten minutes, and the six-month pack is on this page.
A: The cylinder lifts out in one piece and the mesh holds the leaf rather than letting it drift.
Rinse it under the tap and the next boil is clean water.
A: Full, it's a two-handed pour, the same as any 2L kettle.
For a single mug you'd fill it a third of the way and pour one-handed without thinking.
